The Village of operates a  recycling program at their recycling facility on Mill Street.  Village residents bring their recyclable materials to the site and separate them into the appropriate storage bins.

The Village no longer provides curbside pickup of garbage. Instead, designated yellow garbage bags are sold at the village hall, the recycling center, and at area merchants.  These bags come in two sizes, 20 gal. for $1.00 and 30 gal. for $1.50.  This cost pays for the disposal of garbage by volume.  The more a person recycles, the less it cost them to dispose of their garbage.

The recycling center accepts the following materials.

  • Aluminum containers
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Glass containers
  • Magazines and other glossy print materials
  • Newspaper and newsprint materials
  • Office paper
  • Plastic soda bottles (PET) #1
  • HDPE milk jugs #2
  • Other HDPE plastic containers #2
  • Steel containers (tin cans)
  • Bi-metal containers
  • Used motor oil

All of the above items can be dropped off at no charge.

The following items have a per piece charge:

  • White goods (washers, dryers, stoves, ect.)
  • Waste tires
  • Air conditioners and refrigerators
